The Hero

Cochrane Common Mental Disorders is part of Cochrane, an international not-for-profit organisation dedicated to making up-to-date, accurate information about the effects of healthcare readily available worldwide.

The Story

The Cochrane team were looking for new ways to engage lay audiences in the research that they produce, so they can make more informed decisions about their own health care. Current methods of ‘blog shots’ and lay summaries were not increasing engagement and were difficult to share on social media.

The Outcome

I produced three visual stories of different research reports that were social media friendly, animated, and - most importantly - accessible to lay audiences.

Cochrane saw a 60% increase in traffic to their reports on their website from social media, and demand to translate graphics into Spanish and Dutch to share their findings around the world.

The Feedback

"You did such a fantastic job - the feedback online has been great. They are really taking on a life of their own on social media" Jess Hendon, TimeBuilders Manager
