The Scottish Clinical Leadership Fellows use rich pictures to demonstrate their learning over the past year and secure future funding.
The Scottish Clinical Leadership Fellows are a group of NHS dentists, surgeons, GPs and doctors who undertake extra training for a year to improve their leadership skills and contribution to a more efficient NHS.
The team needed to demonstrate the learning journey and outcomes from their year of hard work to commissioners, politicians and contemporaries at their end of year celebration event. They wanted something different to a stuffy report to connect with their audience, communicate an array of competing ideas simply and secure future funding.
We came up with a suite of illustrations to tell their story:
An A0 size rich picture that represented their journey as a hike across the Scottish mountains, illustrating the outcomes of their journey in time and space;
An A5 leaflet representing their ‘toolkit’ for future cohorts of clinical leaders to learn from at the event
A slide deck to present their journey directly to their audience using illustrations from the above.
As a result of making the complex simple, the Scottish Clinical Leadership Fellows secured funding for the next year of the programme and a new website to create a fellowship community. I also got to draw a ‘banana of concern’ for the first time, so it was win win all round ;)!
Thank you so much for sharing the infographic, pictures and booklet! It has been a delight working with you-your enthusiasm and proactivity (not to mention your creative skills) have been wonderful! -
